Do you know someone that loves to learn but struggles in a traditional school setting? That's me! My name is Kristen Delisio and after a long road to teaching in public education it only took me one year to realize there has to be a better option.

The path to starting Education Revival began while returning to college in my 40s. My philosophy of education contradicted with everything that was being taught in the teacher licensure program. So much so that I dropped out of the program with only one semester left! I headed to Florida from Illinois using their alternative certification program to gain true experience in the classroom. I loved teaching, but again, felt stymied by the system.

I value being a licensed educator in both Illinois and Florida, but I'm most proud of creating my outdoor education program that connects academic skills to nature and the world around us. Whether you are an unschooler, wildschooler, or a traditional homeschooler, Educational Revival has a place for everyone.
About our Program
The goal of Education Revival is for students to develop critical thinking skills through nature based classes combined with academic skills. We focus on a holistic approach to instruction including hands on learning, movement, and leadership skills.

Our small class sizes ensure individualized attention and encourage creativity, problem-solving, along with an increase of self-esteem while learning.

Our preferred curriculum is....nature! Students at Education Revival will engage in activities including a multitude of academic disciplines that will connect them to nature and the world around them.

We believe a lack of formal curriculum will encourage development of students' critical thinking skills and lessen to pressure to "perform".

Classes are year round and 100% outside on our 5 acre hobby farm in Waterman, IL with horses, chickens, dogs, and honeybees. Whether you come to Education Revival to supplement your at home learning, meet other homeschool families, or just spend some time outdoors...kids are loving our no pressure approach to learning!
